Spreads
Shrimp Sandwich Butter
Combine all ingredients and mix until smooth.
Soy Vinaigrette
In a small bowl, whisk together vinegar, soy sauce and mustard. Whisk in the olive, and sesame oils to blend well. Makes about 1/4 cup Serve on most salads, vegetable chunks, and heartier dishes with meats or cheese.
Curried Mayonnaise Spread
Stir to combine – enough for 8 slices of bread. Curry is a nice flavor accompaniment with beef, chicken, lamb, shrimp and vegetables.
Avocado Butter
Blend all ingredients till smooth. Keep refrigerated.
Liver Paste
Melt butter in skillet, add chicken livers and all ingredients except hard cooked eggs. Simmer about 1 hour. Put in blender, add eggs and water to the desired consistency. Let cool, cover and refrigerate. Do not drain before putting in blender.
Basic Blender Mayonnaise
Place egg, wine vingegar, salt, mustard in machine at low speed and add 1 T. oil. Whiz and then add remainder of oil in a slow stream till thick. * Oils preferred: peanut, safflower, soy.
Low-fat Pesto
in food processor, combine everything except water. pulse til finely minced. with machine running, slowly add water until it reaches desired consistency. serve with pasta or whatever your heart desires!
Garlic Veggie Dip
Mix all ingredients together, cover and chill. Serve with fresh crisp vegetables. Makes 2 1/2 cups.
