Ingredients:
4 Bacon strips; diced 1 lg Onion; chopped 1/3 c Lentils; dry 1 1/3 c Water 2 tb Ketchup 1 ts Garlic powder 3/4 ts Chili powder 1 ts Cumin, ground 1/4 ts Red pepper flakes, dried 1 Bay leaf 1 cn Tomatoes, whole (16 oz) -with liquid, chopped 1 cn Pinto beans; drained (15 oz) 1 cn Kidney beans; drained (16oz)
Lightly fry bacon in a heavy 3-qt. saucepan. Add onion; cook until
transparent. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cook over medium heat for 45
minutes or until lentils are tender, stirring once or twice. Remove bay
leaf before serving.
