Ingredients:
1 c Butter 2 c Sugar 4 Eggs 3 c Flour 1 c Blackberry jam 1 ts (scant) soda 1 ts Cinnamon 1 ts Cloves 1 c Fresh buttermilk
-FILLING –
1 cn Crushed pineapple
1 1/2 c Sugar (use less if the
-pineapple syrup is heavy)
1 tb Butter
1 tb Flour
Cream butter and sugar together; add eggs. Combine soda, spices and flour.
Alternate flour mixture and buttermilk in egg mixture. Add jam. Bake in 3
pans at 350 degrees.
To make filling: Mix all ingredients and boil until thickened. Spread on
cake.
