1/4 c Margarine, softened 3/4 c Sugar 1 Egg 2 c Sifted all-purpose flour 2 ts Baking powder 1/2 ts Salt 1/2 c Homogenized milk 1 1/3 c (one-half 28 oz jar) None Such Ready-to-use Mince Meat
In large-size electric mixer bowl cream margarine and sugar at medium
speed until light and fluffy. Add egg; beat until blended. On
waxed-paper sift together flour, baking powder and salt. At low speed
add dry ingredients alternately with milk to creamed mixture; blend
well. Stir in mince meat. Spread batter into a buttered 9 x 9 x 2
inch baking pan.
TOPPING: In medium-size bowl combine 1/2 cup firmly packed brown
sugar, 2 Tbl all-purpose flour and 2 tsp cinnamon; cut in 2 Tbl
margarine with pastry blender until crumbly. Stir in 1/2 cup chopped
walnuts. Sprinkle over batter. Bake in a moderate (375F.) oven 40 to
45 minutes or until cake tester inserted in center comes out clean.
Serve warm.
