Ingredients:
1 c Sifted all-purpose flour 2 tb Sugar 1 1/2 ts Baking powder 1 ts Salt 2/3 c Yellow corn meal 2 tb Shortening 1 Slightly beaten egg 3/4 c Milk 1 lb (8 to 10) frankfurters
Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Stir in corn meal. Cut
in shortening until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Combine egg and milk;
add to corn meal mixture, stirring until well blended. Insert wooden skewer
into end of each frank. Spread franks evenly with batter. Fry in deep hot
oil (375F.) until brown, 4 to 5 minutes. Serve with catsup and mustard.
